Core rule
EnglishTestNow sells digital memberships, add-ons, AI-enabled services, speaking-coach subscriptions, and digital top-up packs. Because these products can be delivered and consumed immediately after purchase, they are generally non-refundable once they have been accessed, activated, or used.
If you have already used the product, no refund is owed except where a refund is required by law or where we choose to resolve a verified billing issue. This policy is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
What counts as a used product
A product is considered used if any of the following has happened after purchase:
- you accessed premium-only pages, questions, analytics, or review tools;
- you started or resumed a paid mock test, coach workflow, or premium session;
- you generated any paid AI output, including scoring, feedback, hints, transcripts, rewrites, or explanations tied to a paid entitlement;
- you consumed any speaking drills, top-up balance, credits, or comparable usage allowance;
- an add-on or premium entitlement was activated on your account and materially available for use.
Once a product is used, partially used, or consumed, it is treated as delivered digital content or a delivered digital service.
Subscriptions and renewals
Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel future renewal charges through the billing portal available from the dashboard, or by contacting support before your next renewal date if the self-service billing portal is unavailable.
- Cancellation stops future renewal charges.
- Cancellation does not create a prorated refund for the current billing period.
- If you cancel after a renewal is processed, your subscription usually remains active until the end of the paid term unless a different outcome is required by law.
Renewal timing and separate products
To avoid the next recurring charge, cancel before your renewal date shown in the billing portal or on your receipt. Billing cycles are based on the processor's renewal schedule and may use UTC or the processor's default timezone.
Membership plans, speaking-coach subscriptions, add-ons, and one-time top-ups are separate products. Canceling one product does not automatically cancel others unless stated at checkout or required by law.
If the self-service billing portal is unavailable, contact us through the support chat at englishtestnow.com before the renewal date so we can help you cancel future charges.
Add-ons, top-ups, and one-time digital purchases
One-time digital purchases, including add-ons, speaking-drill top-ups, and other usage-based entitlements, are final once activated or used. They are not redeemable for cash, are not transferable to another user, and are not refundable simply because they were only partially used.
If a one-time digital purchase remains completely unused and you believe the charge was made in error, contact us promptly so we can review the transaction.
Promotions, taxes, and partial use
Discounted, promotional, or bundled prices follow the same usage rules as full-price purchases. A lower price does not create a broader refund right once the product has been used.
Taxes, duties, and payment fees may be collected where required. Refunds, when approved, are generally processed on the product amount paid and may not include amounts that tax authorities or payment networks treat as non-refundable.
Partial use counts as use. Examples include starting one paid mock test, generating one paid AI scoring or feedback result, consuming part of a top-up balance, or activating an add-on that was available for use on your account.
Limited situations where a refund may be considered
We may review and potentially approve a refund or credit in limited cases such as:
- a duplicate charge for the same product;
- a verified billing error;
- a technical failure that completely prevented initial access to the paid product and no material use occurred;
- a charge processed after a timely cancellation was successfully submitted;
- situations where applicable law requires a refund or cooling-off right.
To keep review practical, please raise billing issues within 14 days after the charge date unless a longer period is required by law.
Canadian and other mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy is meant to waive rights that cannot legally be waived. If you are in Canada, mandatory federal or provincial consumer-protection rules may apply to distance contracts, digital performance, automatic renewals, or unfair practices, including in Alberta and Quebec.
If you are in Quebec, Quebec consumer law may give you additional rights regarding renewal disclosures, cancellations, or refunds. Where those rights require a different outcome, we will comply with the applicable law.
If you are outside Canada, similar mandatory consumer, digital-content, or withdrawal rules may apply in your jurisdiction. Those rules prevail over conflicting parts of this policy where required.
Digital-content and mandatory consumer rights
Nothing in this policy is meant to waive rights that cannot legally be waived. In some jurisdictions, including parts of the EEA or UK, consumers may have statutory rights concerning digital content, automatic renewals, or withdrawals that override parts of a standard no-refund policy.
Where the law allows digital-content withdrawal rights to end once performance begins, your request for immediate access and your subsequent use of the product may reduce or eliminate any statutory refund right. Where the law requires a refund despite use, we will comply with that law.
Chargebacks and payment disputes
Before filing a chargeback, contact us through the support chat at englishtestnow.com so we can review the issue directly. Filing a chargeback without first attempting to resolve a non-fraud billing issue may lead to suspension of the affected account or entitlements while the dispute is investigated.
If a chargeback is filed, we may submit account, billing, and usage records to the payment network as part of the dispute process. Where our records show that a digital product was accessed, activated, or used after purchase, we will generally defend the charge under this policy and the Terms of Service.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in permanent account closure and loss of remaining entitlements, except where the law requires otherwise.
This section does not limit your right to dispute unauthorized charges with your payment provider where the law or card-network rules allow you to do so.
Account termination and refunds
If your account is suspended or terminated for abuse, fraud, terms violations, or chargeback misuse, you are not entitled to a refund for billing periods or digital products already used before termination.
Unused prepaid entitlements may be reviewed case by case after termination, but we are not obligated to provide cash refunds for unused balances except where applicable law requires otherwise.
How to request review
Send refund or billing-review requests through the support chat at englishtestnow.com. Include enough detail for us to locate the transaction, such as the account email, charge date, amount, and a short explanation of the issue.
We may request reasonable proof to verify the charge and whether the product was used. We aim to review complete billing requests within 10 to 15 business days, though complex cases may take longer. Approved refunds are generally returned through the original payment method where possible.
Policy changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted on this page applies to future purchases once it becomes effective, unless a different date is stated or the law requires otherwise.
For broader account, privacy, and service terms, review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
